 'Avva' , CM Bommai's Anthology of short stories

Pragativahini News, Bengaluru – Karnataka needs a new cultural direction with a strong Literature and Culture link. State government would play an important role in this regard, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said.
Bommai who released 66 Kannada books of noted Kannada writers to mark 66th Karnataka Rajyotsava here on Saturday said, “it is not enough for Karnataka to grow economically. The state should enrich itself in education, culture and literature too.”
Literature had no barriers of language, religion and caste. Human conscience is taking a backseat in the era of privatization and globalization. “Thought provoking literature can restore our conscience,” Bommai said.

The Chief Minister also revealed literary side of his personality on the occasion by announcing the he is bringing out ‘Avva’, an anthology of short stories written by him, “thus making a small contribution for literary world.”
He appealed to people of the state to cultivate the habit of buying and reading Kannada books to nurture Kannada literature.
