Belagavi mishap: CM Bommai announces a solatium of Rs 5 lakh each for dead families

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai announced a solatium of Rs 5 lakh each for families of six persons who died in a road mishap while on their way to have darshan of Yellamma in Saudatti of Belagavi district in the early hours of Thursday.
The government will also bear the medical expenses of those injured in the mishap.
Talking to reporters here on Thursday, the CM said he was in contact with the district administration and also instructed to probe the mishap.

Asked about the dedication of the Bengaluru-Mysuru Express Corridor road despite lacunae found out during the aerial survey of this highway, the CM said it would be dedicated only after the completion of work. “I will take this decision after a meeting with Union Surface Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari who is inspecting the highway today”.
