Congress allegations backfire them, says CM Bommai

Terming allegations of Congress leaders as 'baseless', Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said

Pragativahini News, Bengaluru :
Terming allegations of Congress leaders as ‘baseless’, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said it was during the Congress Governmentthe orders were issued to Chilume agency by flouting rules of the Election Commission and a probe will bring out truth to the fore. This incident will backfire on the Congress Party.
Talking to reporters here on Sunday, he said instructions are given to hold investigation from 2013 when the Siddaramaiah Government was in power as it will reveal what all instructions had been given to that agency by that government. The people must know  why the orders were issued to Chilume organisation and the reasons behind it. The incumbent government had given orders only to create awareness among the voters and had put a condition that the agency must not have any association or links with any political party. But the previous chief minister, Siddaramaiah had issued orders for the revision of electoral list which has to be done by the Election Commission. It is a grave crime that the work to be done by the Election Commission had been given to a private agency. Adding to it, a tahsildhar was issued orders to appoint BLOs’. In this case, the Siddaramaiah Government has crossed all limits and misused the power.
Political motivated
He said the addition and deletion of names in the electoral list is the job of the Election Commission and not of any government. The allegations against the present government is politically motivated.
Probe to reveal truth
To allegation that the minister has used this agency to collect details of the voters, he said all political parties use the agencies to get the surveys done. But here it it important to know the nature of order issued by the government. “Our government had put a condition that the agency must not have political links with any political party but this condition was missing in the orders issued by the previous government. Going a step ahead, the Siddaramaiah Government had authorised even the appointment of BLOs.
Asked whether the government will recommend a high-level probe, Bommai said the government had earlier planned to probe only the current incident but it has been decided to probe whatever happened since 2013. Truth will come out through probe.
Baseless charges
He said the Congress’ allegation of deletion of names purposefully is baseless. It was also false that 27 lakh voters are deleted from the list. In Shivaji nagar, only 15000 names and around 40,000 to 45,000 names of voters in K.R.Puram and Mahadevapura are removed. This time, the Election commission is using Artificial intelligence for the removal of duplication of names in list. This kind of activity will held in the removal of fake voters as it will alone help in the conduct of election in fair manner. This will end the practice of inclusion of names of people of other areas to get the votes in favour of the Congress Party. Because of this the Congress Party is creating hue and cry.
When the CM was told about the plans of Congress Party to complain to the Election commission of India, he said let them go and complain to anybody as truth will come out. This baseless issue will backfire on them.
