Girl Power reigns in at KAHER graduation ceremony

12th Convocation of KLE Academy of Higher Education & Research (KAHER)

Pragativahini News, Belagavi – Knowledge should be built on time tested principles of five core universal values; Truth (Sathya), righteous conduct (Dharma) Peace (Shanthi), love (Prem) and non-violence (Ahimsa), which represent five facets of human personalities – intellectual, physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual. They also represent five major objectives of education, knowledge, skill, balance, vision and identity opined Dr. C N Ashwath Narayan, Minister of For Higher Education, IT, BT, Science & Technology Govt. of Karnataka.

He was speaking as chief guest in the 12th Convocation of KLE Academy of Higher Education & Research (KAHER) at KLE Convention Centre, Belagavi.  Medical technology has emerged as a powerful tool in early & definitive diagnosis of complex diseases, but it is beyond the reach of the common men. It is our responsibility to find ways & means to make the technology available, accessible & affordable to the needy person standing in the remotest area stressed  Dr.  Ashwath Narayan. 

Amidst applause from audience Minister said, Karnataka is the first state to implement National Education Policy NEP-2020 from the academic year 2021-22. NEP will reenergize & strengthen the entire gamut of higher education system which ushers’ equity, gender equality & inclusive growth of every section of the society. The impact of NEP will be so evident, In the coming years Karnataka will produce intellectuals, business leaders, entrepreneurs, literary figures of highest order he said. 

Dr. Ashwath Narayan paid glowing tributes to seven dedicated teachers “Saptarishis” for their selfless sacrifices a century ago has ensured high quality, affordable education to the students of this part of Karnataka. He also stated, KLE Society, under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Prabhakar Kore has undergone rapid metamorphosis in the last 36 years. It has bloomed and blossomed from 44 institutions then to more than 290 Institutions and majority of them in rural areas of North Karnataka is a significant factor noted Dr. Ashwath Narayan.  He also congratulated Dr. Prabhakar Kore for having been conferred with Honorary Doctorate of Science Degree by Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, USA, the 2 oldest University and one of the prestigious Universities in USA, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to Education and Health-care in this part of the country. He is the first Indian to get the honorary Degree from this University.

Presenting KAHER University annual report Dr. Vivek Saoji, Vice Chancellor of KAHER highlighted that KLE has emerged as big brand name in offering quality health education, innovations & research. The KAHER has inked a collaborative pact with USA universities for faculty, student exchange programmes to strengthen teaching & learning. Vice Chancellor stated over 6500 students are studying in KAHER more than half of them are girl students. Girl students surpass boys in KAHER convocation out of 1504 passing graduates 947 are girls and 557 boys. He again stressed 22 gold medals out of 30 are bagged by girls amidst applause from audience. The students are exposed to Hi-Tech simulation models, tech based human cadaver anatomy placed at J N Medical College have made learning process real time & students favour learning on these models. 6 Heart Transplants, three back- to-back in July, 2022 is the record achievement in the history of Karnataka said Vice Chancellor.

Awards & Degrees: 

Dr. Yogeshwari Pradhan & Dr. Alisha MBBS students bagged two gold medals. In the convocation, a total of 1502 degrees were awarded in various disciplines of health science. 37 gold medals to 30 awardees for their excellence in their academics. Apart from this 14 Ph.D, 10 Post-Doctoral (DM/M.Ch), 494 Post-Graduate, 909 under graduate, 11 Post graduate Diploma, 34 certificate courses, 8 Fellowship & 22 UG diploma were being awarded.

Dr. Prabhakar Kore Chancellor KAHER presided over the function. Dr. V A Kothiwale, Registrar KAHER,Dr. B G Desai, Secretary KLE Society,  Dr. N S Mahantshetti, Principal, J N Medical College, Dr. Alka Kale, Principal, KLE Dental College, Dr. V D Patil, Dr. Jyoti Nagmoti, Dr. M  S Ganachari, Dr. Sudha Raddi, Members of University Board of Management and Dr. V S Sadhunnavar, Dr. V I Patil, Directors of KLE Society, Parents, faculty & over 1000 students were present in the convocation.
