Kore built KLE Society by sacrificing political life’, Says CM Bommai 

Pragativahini News, Belagavi : Dr Prabhakar Kore built the KLE Society by sacrificing his political career, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Speaking at Amrit Mahotsav organised in connection with 75th birthday day celebrations of Dr Prabhakar Kore here on Saturday, he said Dr Kore strove hard to build the KLE Society and had he spent this much of energy in politics he would become a good political leader. Dr Kore had understood that it was more important for him to provide the much needed education to the people of this region, and brought in a total change in the field of education. He dedicated his life in grooming leaders than he becoming a leader, and built the society.

The CM said if a person completes 75 years of age it is a time to study his/her life from various dimensions. Studying Dr Kore’s path of life, he became a member of board of directors of  society at an early age, and later worked as it’s chairman. At that time, the society was facing a lot of challenges including nationalisation of KLE Society’s institutions. But he managed the situation effectively and carry forward the society to the path of progress. Dr Kore groomed the institutions by taking everybody into confidence. Despite criticism, court cases, insulting talks and hostile attitude, he faced everything boldly and intelligently and took it to the level of making it as a deemed University.

Bommai said most of the leaders of this region have been the students of the KLE Society and it cannot be forgotten. The entire Mumbai-Karnataka region would have been denied of education if the educational institutions were not opened in a big scale and donors had not made big donation. The work which was not done by the government has been done by the KLE Society.

 *Revolution in education* 

He said as KLE Society grew, the educational institutions in the surrounding areas faced the closure and that time they requested the society to run their institutions. The society has been giving education without seeing the caste, colour or religion. Dr Kore has done revolutionalised education in this region. An institution has been constructed in Bengaluru on par with other reputed institution. The KLE society will like to have anything new in the fields of education, medicine and agriculture, in their institutions.

He said Dr Kore has performed in all fields and no person required a political strength to grow. When they required 19 MES votes to make a Kannada speaking corporator as Belagavi Mayor, Dr Kore managed to garner those votes. This will show his strength to get the MES votes.

Bommai said Dr Kore moved actively despite having a bullet in his body and he called him as a bullet man. ‘ I had met him when he was shot at and he had said it is like a re-birth for him and will work for the society” , he added.

Union Minister for Education and Skill Development Dharmendra Pradhan, Goa Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, Union Minister for Coal, Mining and Parliamentary Pralhad Joshi, Belagavi MP Mangala Suresh Angadi, former CMs B.S.Yediyurappa, Jagadish Shettar, Ministers Govind Karjol, Murgesh Nirani, B.C.Nagesh, MLC Basavaraja Horatti, Laxman Savadi and MLA R.V.Deshpande were present.
