An Insight into Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Patent Filling Process

Pragativahini News, Belagavi – A one day workshop on “ An Insight into Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Patent Filling Process” was conducted at Rani Channamma University campus by IQAC (Internal Quality Assurance Cell) on Thursday. 

Prof. M Ramachandra Gowda, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor inaugurated the workshop, in his inaugural address he opined that the professors need to encourage students to take up original research, quality of research can greatly contribute to the development of the society. Not just the science stream even arts and social science people can also make innovations and get their work registered under patent said, Prof. M Ramachandra Gowda.  

The resource persons Dr. Rudresh M., Assistant Professor, Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Bengaluru and Dr. Praveen Kumar M. V. IP Consultant, Bengaluru spoke on intellectual property rights and patent filling process in a very detailed way. Dr. Rudresh M. spoke on Overview of Intellectual Property Rights and Patent Search & Drafting Process. Dr. Praveen Kumar M. V. spoke on Patent Filling Procedure. The workshop was held in four sessions and chaired by professors of RCUB. The workshop was held in hybrid mode, the teaching faculties of the university attended it offline and research scholars participated in an online mode. The workshop was followed by panel discussion chaired by Dr. Shivanand Gornale, Director, IQAC.  The queries of the delegated were answered by the resource persons. 

Prof. Basavaraj Padmasali, Registrar, Prof. S. M. Hurkadli, Registrar (Evaluvation) and Prof. D. N. Patil, Finance Officer of Rani Channamma University and others graced the programme. The workshop was compeered by Ms. Pooja Halyal, Asst. Registrar, IQAC.
