Congress dreaming of returning to power: CM Bommai

Jan Sankalp Yatra in Challakere

Pragativahini News, Chitradurga (Challakere) : The Congress Party is dreaming of returning to power in the State, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
Speaking at BJP’s Jan Sankalp Yatra in Challakere on Tuesday, he said Leader of the Opposition in State Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah asked people to vote for the Congress Party if they wanted him to become the CM. In the confusion between Siddaramaiah and KPCC President D.K.Shivakumar the Congress Party has sunk completely. It has sunk in all the states and it will meet the same fate in Karnataka in 2023 also.
Congress Padayatra in Karnataka is a big flop
The CM said  former AICC President Rahul Gandhi did Bharat Jodo yatra in Karnataka and people from Shivamogga and Thirthahalli came and assembled in Challakere. Rahul’s was half padayatra and half car ride and such pada yatra will not have any bearing on Karnataka. The Congress Padayatra has failed completely.
The Congress leaders are scared of Jan Sankalp Yatra because of which they are making allegations against the ruling BJP government to tarnish its image. The Congress means corruption, corruption means Congress. If they come back to power, what they will do is corruption. The Congress Party must be totally eliminated from the State. “During the Congress regime, injustice was done to all the communities.
They tried to divide the Veerashaivas-Lingayats, and to create backward classes by identifying sub-castes among backward people. The Congress tried to make use of this by creating division among the castes in the elections but the electorate rejected that party completely.
To develop Challakere
Bommai said the government is committed to bring back the glory of Challakere and special grants will be given for the oil business. With the blessings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Challakere will emerge as an important city in the country. The ISRO unit at Challakere will become the sixth satellite landing centre in the whole world.
Works have started with the financial assistance from the union government. One more national highway is coming to Challekere and for the execution of this project the region needs to have BJP legislators who will work for the people. In 2018, the people were ready to vote for BJP but they missed the opportunity by making a mistake. This time, all efforts will be made to win this seat.
 Congress started corruption
The Congress Party started corruption. They shut Lokayukta and started the Anti-Corruption Bureau as over 50 cases were against them. Through the ACB all the cases were closed, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
Speaking after inaugurating BJP’s Jan Sankalp Yatra in Hiriyur on Tuesday, he said the Congress leaders claim themselves as clean but they spread corruption to the entire country. The Congress leaders only speak of social justice but what they have done is social injustice. That party has lost power in most of the States. The wave in both Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh is in favour of BJP. The victory in those states will write the foreword for the emphatic win in Karnataka also.
The CM said the Congress Party ruled for more than 50 years but they lacked will to revive the Vani Vilasa Sagara Dam. The people of this region voted for the Congress Party but the latter did not show their gratitude by giving water to people. But  the incumbent BJP has done it. Now the Congress Party wants to come back to power. Between 2013 and 2018 they looted the Anna Bhagya scheme, indulged in corruption in other departments also.
Former CM B.S.Yediyurappa, Ministers Govind Karjol, B.Sriramulu, MLAs Poornima Srinivas, M.Chandrappa, Tippareddy, MLC Ravikumar and others were present.

The State government has released Rs 738 crore grant for desilting of Vani Vilas Sagara canals and its modernisation in order to help farmers of this region, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

This reservoir is a tourist place and the government will give permission to create a garden here. Orders will be issued to permanently ensure 5 tmc ft of water under Upper Bhadra scheme.
Upper Bhadra scheme
The CM said the people of this region agitated for 580 days in 2007 and 2008 seeking the implementation of the Upper Bhadra project. But it was neglected by the previous governments. The previous government headed by Chief Minister B.S.Yediyurappa and he as Water Resources Minister got the project approved and started a tender process. The incumbent government has fulfilled the promise of providing water to the district people from the Upper Bhadra project as well as from Vani Vilasa Sagara reservoir. The State is blessed with rich natural resources but a dedicated leadership is required to take the state on the path of progress.
“Our government has worked out development plans worth Rs 500 crore for this region. Under UGD scheme, Rs 208 crore is fixed of which Rs 104 crore has been sanctioned for the first stage of works. The government is committed to developing Hiriyur taluk and to provide irrigation facilities to all taluks in the district. Drip irrigation scheme has been given top priority and irrigation facilities will be provided to one lakh hectares. This region has ISRO and IIT. The ISRO has initiated steps to conduct the experiment of landing of the reusable rockets in Challakere unit.
Industrial township on 1,000 acres in Chitradurga
Bommai said a place has been identified to establish an industrial township on 1,000 acres in Chitradurga and the work on this will start from January next year. This project will change the district’s economy as well as provide employment to youths.
