Pragativahini News, Mangaluru ; Early age is the right time to inculcate discipline and character and discipline, and the Scouts and Guides will help in this regard said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
Speaking after inaugurating the International Cultural Jamboree of Bharath Scouts and Guides at Alva’s Educational institution in Mudubidare on Sunday, he said the children are taught values, ideals, respect for elders, and love for juniors here. India has history but it requires character. Jamboree is a feast for the eyes and filled with culture, and it will make the country strong culturally across the world. It is happy to note that the institution has resolved to make Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for nation-building. India has a rich history, culture, and heritage. Indianness means humanity. The achievements of Scouts and guides in the last one hundred years show their important role in preserving culture.
Role of Alva’s educational institutions praised
Bommai said youths are in confusion due to the onslaught of western culture on Indian culture. What’s there in them is civilization and what they are is culture. They must walk on the path of culture, kindness, righteousness, and religion, and inculcate culture through good nature and values.
Violence in name of religion is sad
Bommai said violence which is going on across the world in the name of religion is unfortunate and sad. Religion is one that preaches peace and respects each other. Unfortunately, terrorism is going on in the name of religion and this is the beginning of the end. India alone has the strength to prevent this and that can happen only through a change of mind.
Primary & Secondary Education Minister B.C.Nagesh, Energy Minister Sunil Kumar, MLAs C.T.Ravi, Sripathi Bhat, All India Bharath Scouts & Guides General Secretary Anil Jain. Karnataka Scouts & Guides Chief PGR Sindhia, Alva’s Educational Institution’s Chief Mohan Alva, and others were present.
