Pragativahini News, Belagavi – KAHER’s Department of Pediatrics, J N Medical College, Belagavi along with Indian Academy of Pediatrics, Karnataka State, IAP Medicolegal Karnataka group, Department of Pediatrics BIMS, Belagavi and IAP Belagavi district branch, hosted 36th SOUTH ZONE AND IAP KARNATAKA STATE ANNUAL CONFERENCE, IAP MEDICOLEGAL KARNATAKA CONFERENCE on 14th -16th October 2022 at KLES Centenary Convention Centre, JNMC Campus, Belagavi.
The Inaugural ceremony was held on Saturday 15th October 2022 at KLE Centenary Convention Centre, KAHER, Belagavi. Chief Guest of the function was Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, Minister of Revenue, Animal Husbandry & Dairy Development, Govt. of Maharastra. and Dr. Prabhakar Kore, Former MP, Chancellor, KAHER & Chairman – KLE Society Belagavi, Guest of Honors Were Dr. Remesh Kumar. R, National President of Indian Academy of Pediatrics( CIAP) 2022, Dr. Upendra S Kinjawadekar, President – Elect CIAP – 2022, Dr. Piyush Gupta, Immediate Past President CIAP -2022, Dr. Vineet Saxena, Honorary Secretary General CIAP – 2022, Dr. Santosh Soans, Past President 2018, Central IAP, Dr. V K Goyal, Chairman IAP National MLG Group 2022, (Mrs) N.S. Mahantashetti, Officiating Vice Chancellor & Principal, KAHER’s, J.N. Medical College, Belagavi. Dr. (Mrs) Roopa M. Bellad, Organizing Chairperson, President IAP Karnataka state and Professor of Pediatrics welcomed the Guests ,faculty and the delegates.
Prof (Dr.) V D Patil, Director, Hospital Development & New Projects & Professor of Pediatrics introduced the Chief Guest and also thanked him for the support given to KLE Society to provide Health Care in Maharastra.
Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, Minister of Revenue, Animal Husbandry & Dairy Development, Govt. of Maharastra, Dr. Prabhakar Kore, Former MP, Chancellor, KAHER & Chairman – KLE Society Belagavi, addressed the gathering & spoke about the important role of pediatrics to guide parents in promoting growth & Development. He lauded the efforts of Dr. Prabhakar Kore, Former MP, Chancellor, KAHER & Chairman – KLE Society Belagavi, in promoting the health and education not only in Karnataka but also in Maharashtra and other parts of India. He also informed about the initiatives taken by Government to improve the nutritional status of the Children from rural area. He wished Dr. Prabhakar Kore, a good health on the occasion of his 75th Birthday.
Chancellor Dr. Prabhakar Kore congratulated the Organizing Committee for hosting the conference successfully and wished the pediatricians, gathered for the conference a great scientific feast with comfortable stay. He appreciated the research initiative taken by the department in women and child health research in collaboration with Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, USA.
He said that this was possible due to the exchange program of faculty from J N Medical College with University of Illinois, Chicago. Dr. Prof. Manisha Bhandankar, Honarary Secretary, IAP Karnataka state & Professor of Pediatrics presented the secretarial report of the activities of IAP Karnataka in 2022. Dr. Remesh Kumar, President, IAP spoke about the various academic activities conducted by central IAP in 2022 and the support provided to the Postgraduate students in delivering better child care for the country.
Vote of thanks was delivered by Prof (Dr.) Tanmaya Metgud, Organizing Co-chairperson of the conference & Professor & Head, Department of Pediatrics, JNMC, Belagavi, Dr. (Mrs.) Sujata Jali, Professor, Dept. of Pediatrics, JNMC, Belagavi; was also present at the function.
800 pediatricians from all over the country attended this conference.
