Special plan on the use of modern technology in Dhobi Ghat- CM Bommai

Pragativahini News, Chitradurga : Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said a special subsidy scheme to promote the use of technology in the dhobi ghats across the state will be announced in the next state budget.

Speaking after inaugurating Sri Machideva Mahadhwara and Kayak Janotsava-2023 organized by Machideva Mahasamsthan here on Thursday, he said the modern equipment has already been installed in eight dhobhi ghats but in the present situation, the children cannot continue in their traditional profession as they have to pick up other professions. They must become IAS, IPS officers, doctors, or engineers and progress. The seers must come forward to prepare them in that direction. The change in this direction will do good for the society and nation. More funds will be given to the Madiwala Development Corporation in the next budget and special grants will be made available for the youths to become self-employed, and to create more opportunities for them.

He said the community was identified by former CM B.S.Yediyurappa and had been leading this community as Bhishma. The government has also a special concern for this community. A genealogical study is underway following a demand from this community within the ambit of the Constitution. No one did anything in the last seven to eight years. The incumbent government will do justice by studying their demand within the legal framework. Necessary steps will be taken to help the community people to unite and lead a self-reliant life. The Kayak scheme has been already initiated and the funds will be released from the current year. Provisions have been made for the children to study as well as to take up self-employment.

Bommai said Machidevaru was a duty-bound and strong person to give protection and these two qualities must be developed by the community to get justice. Efforts will be made to ensure that they will not be meted out injustice at the time of ensuring justice. “Sri Madiwala Machidevaru had a wonderful history and he had enjoyed an important status during the period of Basavanna. He propagated dedication towards work and also composed 354 vachanas and got the status of self-reliance in society. There used to be an entrance examination to enter Anubhava Mantap and that was conducted by Machidevaru.

Ministers Govind Karjol, MLAs Tippareddy, Poornima Srinivas, Dr. Sri Basava Machideva Swamiji, and other seers were present.
