Campaign to ensure government projects reach beneficiaries: CM Bommai

Talking to reporters here on Friday

Pragativahini News, Bengaluru : A campaign will be taken up in all the districts to ensure that the government projects must reach all the beneficiaries, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Talking to reporters here on Friday, he said after Narendra Modi before the Prime Minister, there has been a lot of transparency and the introduction of the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme for all projects, the benefits are directly reaching the beneficiaries without the menace of middlemen. This has avoided people from frequenting government offices. The benefits of PM Swanidhi, Raitha Vidya Nidhi, and Raitha Shakti are directly credited into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries through the DBT.

He said instructions are given to all the district-level officers to take steps to ensure that the benefits of the state and the central government schemes must reach the beneficiaries directly without any delay. Other schemes like Streeshakti, Swami Vivekananda Yuva Shakti, and Amrit are due for implementation and awareness needs to be created about them. Those who have not received the benefits must be identified and see to it that the benefits would reach them. A kind of awareness about it would be done by holding the convention in every district. This would help in reaching out to the people at the grassroots level. An order to this effect would be issued soon. The information regarding the proposed district-level campaign must reach the people in need so that they come forward to take benefit of the same. This campaign would be held under the leadership of district-in-charge ministers.

Changed on request

The CM said Revenue Minister R. Ashok has been relieved of Mandya district in-charge following his request. The minister had requested in this regard since he had to make success the ambitious programs such as village stay, DC’s visit to villages, and the distribution of title deeds in the Davangere district.
