One More Successful Liver Transplant at KLES Hospital
Liver Donated by a KIMS (Hubli) Patient
Pragativahini News, Belagavi – Department of Gastroenterology & Liver of KLES Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital, Belagavi attained yet another milestone by performing third successful Liver Transplantation on 3rd March 2023.
42 Year/Male from Bengaluru got new lease of life after liver transplant. This time the liver was donated by a 17-year-old brain dead patient from KIMS Hubli. The family members of the donor voluntarily agreed to donate liver to save the life of a person who was suffering from end stage liver failure. It was the first Liver transported in Green Corridor from Hubballi to Belagavi (on earlier occasions Heart & Kidney have been transported). Post Liver Transplant patient has recovered well is being discharged said Dr. Santosh Hajare, Chief Department of Gastroenterology & Liver Clinic of KLES Hospital.
Dr. Prabhakar Kore Chairman KLE Society congratulated the team of doctors, nursing & support staff for successful 3rd Liver transplantation. He also thanked the donors’ family who took bold decision to donate Liver to save some one’s life who is not known or related. Dr. (Col) M. Dayananda Medical Director expressed his gratitude to Police Officials for providing timely green corridor to shift Liver from Hubballi to Belagavi in record one hour time.
